3 Weeks In

Well here we are, 3 weeks in to what is supposed to be a travelling retirement and we have made it only 2 miles. Covid-19 restrictions have made us change our plans again. We had reservations in Newport, Oregon, but we heard that our reservations will likely be cancelled. The Thousand Trails campground is still not allowed to accept new campers. Luckily, we found a KOA near Bandon that will accept new visitors. Barring more shut downs, we are good up to June. There is no point in making reservations past that because things are too up in the air.

I added more pictures in the photo gallery. One of Brie running, one of the mother goose and 2 babies, and one of a turtle we saw in the pond. We also saw a catfish in the shallows, but the picture didn't turn out very good.

We got our bikes back from the shop. Jan's is running great. Mine has a problem. The left brake pedal has a crushed thread and when I attached it to the crank arm, I promptly stripped the threads out. When I jumped on my bike for a ride, we made it out of the campground and on to the road and the pedal fell off. One of the great things about an eBike is that it has a throttle. I was able to continue the ride without pedaling at all.

In other news, the truck is still in the body shop. We kind of decided that someone backed into the truck while I was at Home Depot. The Placerville Home Depot has a cramped parking lot with a lot of trucks. I can easily see it happening there. The only other parking lot I was at that day was the Bel Air parking lot and it has angled parking. Not many cars back in there.

My next post will be about the batch of beer I just brewed. I have pictures of the process, but I haven't downloaded them from the camera yet.
